International Education Week

About International Education Week:

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. As part of a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week showcases the efforts of programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. This year's theme is "International Education: Learning Matters Around the World".  To learn more about International Education Week, visit the Department of State website. Monday, 11/11/13:

Display - "How Foreign Currencies Compare to the Dollar" Love Library South entrance, all week 
See a visual representation of how foreign currencies stack up to the U.S. dollar, put together by UNL Student Money Management Center.

Film Screening - "Girl Rising" Nebraska Union - Heritage Room, 7:30-10PM
Join UNL Education Abroad for a film screening of "Girl Rising", a documentary-style film that follows the quest of nine girls and young women as they seek access to education. See the trailer here

Global Studies, the Chinese Student & Scholar Association, International Engagment, Education Abroad, and UNL Housing are co-hosting the Global Matters Dinner with the topic this month focusing on China. 

Film Screening - "The Dialogue", Nebraska Union - Auditorium, 6:30-8PM
"The Dialogue" is a documentary on cross-cultural discovery, produced by Crossing Borders Films. The film follows the travels of four American Students and four Chinese students and the journey they take across China together. The Dialogue is designed to initiate powerful cross-cultural conversations across US campuses, while also promoting the power of inter-cultural learning and affect conflict mediation.
